GHANA HITS SINGLE DIGIT INFLATION PDF Print E-mail

The Ghana Statistical Service has announced a single digit inflation of 9.52 for the month of June.

It is the first time in many years that the country has achieved a single digit inflation.

The current Finance Minister, Dr Kwabena Duffuor, who was the governor of the Bank of Ghana in 1999 when a 9.4 figure was achieved, has hailed the latest inflationary figure of 9.52, saying it confirms that the government's Better Ghana Agenda is well on course.

Spain captured football's most revered trophy for the first time with a 1-0 victory over the Netherlands. Andres Iniesta’s 116th-minute strike at Soccer City shot the Spaniat to this glorious feat. 


The solitary goal came with penalties looming as substitutes Fernando Torres and Cesc Fabregas combined to play in Iniesta and the little Barcelona midfielder drove emphatically across Maarten Stekelenburg and into the far corner. With this victory – their fourth successive single-goal win in South Africa – Spain became the eighth name on the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy and also the first European team to have triumphed on a different continent.

BREAKING NEWS: MINISTER ESCAPES ASSASSINATION PDF Print E-mail

Reports say the Minister of Health, Dr Benjamin Kumbour has escaped an assassination attempt.

The attempt on the Minister’s life reportedly took place at Labone in Accra while he was on his way home from work Monday.

Sources close to the Minister say a sharp object, thought to be a bullet, ran through his vehicle from one end and exited on the other but hit no one. It is also unclear how many people were on the vehicle.

Details remain sketchy but Dr. Kumbour is believed to have escaped unhurt.
