Disgruntled Former Coordinator of the National Youth Council, Dr. Sekou Nkrumah has launched yet another verbal vituperation on the Mills-led government for launching the long-awaited national youth policy, without an action plan for its implementation. Dr. Nkrumah who was sacked barely a week after he criticized what he said was the slow nature of President Mills’ governance, campaigned strongly for the passage of the national Youth policy. The 27-page document launched on Thursday August 12, by the Vice President John Dramani Mahama has already been rejected by opposition parties who say they were not consulted during a review of the document.

Bibi Aisha, a young Afghan wife whose ears and nose were cut off by her husband, is heading to the United States on Wednesday for reconstructive surgery.
Aisha made headlines and was on a recent cover of Time magazine, showing the plight of women in Afghanistan.
"When they cut off my nose and ears, I passed out," Aisha said, describing the attack. "It felt like there was cold water in my nose. I opened my eyes, and I couldn't even see because of all the blood."

A Kumasi-based pastor Monday afternoon shot himself dead in the darkness of his room.
Rev Opoku Agyemang, Head Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Kwadaso-Nzema in Kumasi, locked himself up in the room before committing the act at about 4pm.
The pastor was said to be recovering from a short illness and had gone to hospital a day before his untimely death.
It is unclear why the pastor took his own life. The body has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital mortuary in Kumasi for autopsy. |
